Artist, Designer, Ideator.

Reshoketswe Motau, also known as, The Merciful Lioness, is a creative being. She enjoys solving problems, from something as simple as completing a puzzle to finding out why there is such a huge difference in the ratio of rich people to poor people. Her passions lie in the art, design, architecture, and ideation industries.

Her future aspirations, include establishing a design hub, that is inspired by the Bauhaus Movement. A hub that mentors, and motivates young women while showcasing how art, design and ideation can be used to help communities advance, whilst sustaining themselves and the environment.

She loves fusing her skill set, in product design and manufacturing to reintroduce ideals such as ‘craftswomanship' and ornamentation into modern, minimal and functional creative solutions. She believes that these solutions, need to touch on as well as have some form of positive impact with regards to the socio-economic status of South African. Whether it be through physical and/or digital means.

Having been being born and raised in South Africa, Reshoketswe understands the need for empathy throughout the entire design process. She attests this to South Africa’s Ubuntu ethos, which states that a person is a person through (other) persons. Her wish is to add value to the lives of all who she comes across directly or indirectly simply because of having existed. She believes that she can change the world and is courageous enough to try.
